Short answers to the questions people ask most before and after buying Merlin Guild.
Is it safe to use with my funds
Use it the way we do: with burner wallets first. Generate fresh wallets in the app, fund them with a small amount, and test before committing real funds. Your keys stay encrypted on your machine and never leave it. See Responsible use and burner wallets.
What platforms are supported
Merlin Guild runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). See Installing on Windows.
Do my keys ever leave my computer
No. Everything runs locally and your private keys are encrypted on your device. The app is self-hosted and not custodial. See Local-first by design.
What happens if the developer disappears
Merlin Guild runs on your own machine and is yours to keep. It does not depend on a server staying online to function, so it keeps working on your terms.
How do updates work
You update when you want by re-running the install command. There is no background auto-updater, and installs are checked as genuine before they run. See Updates and integrity.
My install showed an unknown publisher prompt
That is expected and not a problem. The integrity of what you install is confirmed by a genuine-build check, not by that label. See Updates and integrity.
My license stopped working
Your key may have been revoked or its download window may have ended. Contact support to renew it, then re-run the install command. See License and updates.
