Merlin Guild can track a very large number of wallets at once without making your connection crawl. This page explains how balances stay current and what the indicators mean.
Visible wallets feel real-time
The wallets you are actually looking at, the ones on screen or pinned, update in near real-time. When their balance changes on-chain, you see it within a few seconds.
The rest are tracked in the background
Wallets you are not currently viewing are still tracked, just more gently, so the app can follow thousands of them without exhausting your connection. When you scroll to them, their values are already current or refresh quickly.
Last known value with a stale hint
If a balance has not refreshed yet, the app shows the last value it knows rather than a blank, and marks it as not yet current. You always see something useful, and you can tell when a number is still catching up.
It stays efficient under pressure
If the network pushes back, background tracking eases off automatically instead of hammering the connection. Updates slow down gracefully rather than dropping out without warning.
What this means for you
- Fast where it matters: the wallets in front of you feel live.
- Scales quietly: thousands of wallets stay tracked without slowing you down.
- No blanks: you see last known values and a clear hint when they are refreshing.
